FBS Announces Scholarship for Online CBET Study Course.

The AAMI CBET Study Course will help participants prepare for the Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician exam. The course covers each area of the CBET exam outline, including anatomy and physiology, public safety in the healthcare facility, fundamentals of electricity and electronics, healthcare technology and function, healthcare technology problem-solving, and healthcare information technology.

The 8 session CBET Study Course that will be held every Monday and Wednesday evening from 7:00PM-9:00PM Eastern starting Monday, October 3rd and ending Wednesday, October 26th. The virtual modality is a live-streamed, instructor-led course delivered via Zoom. Learners who attend this course will have the ability to direct questions to the instructor in real time that will either be answered at the end of the session or addressed via the AAMI Connect discussion group. All course registrants have access to this private group and are encouraged to share information and ask questions throughout the duration of the course. Should a registrant not make the live session, all 8 classes are recorded and posted in the AAMI Learning Management System within 24 hours for viewing at a later time.

FBS is sponsoring 5 candidates in this cycle for this training class. It has been very successful in the past for high percentage of students passing on the first attempt. The candidates selected will be notified of their selection. Selection will be based on FBS membership, Florida State resident, applicant for test coming in November, and years experience. FBS will also reimburse $100.00 to those candidates who take the CBET test and an additional $100.00 after successful passing.

AAMI 2022 Fall testing window is November 1-15.
CBET test Application deadline is October 14, 2022.

Philips 2021 Year Start Big Success

NEFAMI had a great experience with Philips hosting our first gathering of the year with subs and education, Positive Energy Battery Company providing door prizes, and Mayo Clinic providing access to their state-of-the-art training rooms.

Thank you to all who attended. To those who did not, you really missed out on great education.

We learned how Philips has helped reduce alarms by significant amounts through identifying issues and simple solutions - like educating on electrode placement and prep, SpO2 sensor placement, and custom alarms limits.

We also got a chance to see some of Mayo Clinic's cool tech like life-sized images on a screen that can be used to plan surgeries.

Positive Energy Battery Company rewarded those who could answer questions about the Philips presentation with $25 VISA cards (I was a lucky winner!).

It was a whole lot of fun and I can't wait to see you all for our next event -- which looks like it might be a spring picnic! Stay tuned!
